CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME The Carpal Tunnel is the passage through which the median nerve and the tendons of the fingers pass from the forearm into the hand.  The Median Nerve can become compressed within the carpal tunnel and that causes numbness, tingling and weakness in the hand. Nerve tests are used to confirm the diagnosis and then the nerve can be freed from its constrictions through outpatient surgery.
