AVASCULAR NECROSIS OF THE HIP Trochanteric Bursitis is an inflammatory disorder that occurs between the “lateral hip bone” and its overlying ligaments. The condition can become very painful when walking and when sleeping on that side. Treatment includes medications, injections, and physical therapy. In only the rare cases when the bursitis does not resolve with conservative care, surgery is utilized to remedy the problem.
